- In Greek myth Prometheus created men and his brother Epimentheus created the animals. Epimentheus had already given all of the best gifts to the animals, so Prometheus stole fire from the gods to give to mankind.
- As a punishment for his theft Zeus chained Prometheus to a giant boulder on a mountaintop where every day an eagle (Eagles are a symbol for Zeus.) would eat his liver, and because he's immortal every night his liver would regenerate only to be eaten again the next day.
